Random Thoughts

A new semester has begun...and we have already had one exam. Now I know I can be dramatic about exams and grades but there was no drama in my fb statement that it was a disaster.

It took me about 40 minutes for a 40 question exam. I wasn't the first to finish, probably about the 3 or 4th person to leave. And for some reason we always have to have lecture following the exam so we all were slowly gathering outside waiting for class to begin again.

There are certain things in various life situations that never seem to change...Nurses after exams. We all gather, looks of shock and disbelief. How dare the professor ask that... We never went over that in class... The questions were so vague... What did you put for the question about etc... We compare and contrast but in the the outcome will be what the outcome will be.
Other steady life situation are nurses in the hospital. The primary night nurses don't get along with the day nurses. The drama that surrounds each and every schedule but even more so with holiday schedules. Every place I have worked, these seem to be constants. I almost makes me laugh it is so predictable.

It is a cold and snowy day/week. I am rotating days and nights at my new job and this is a less then desirable circumstance in which I find myself. At least I have spring break to look forward to. When I was in college I never went on a "real" spring break. I think I mostly went home and worked and studied. So, since I am a student again and my life circumstances have severely limited my travel opportunities I am going south to the beach with some of my best buddies, Claire and Heather. Here's to year 3- girly getaway!

You sound like a college student---the semester just started and you are already looking forward to spring break! Rooting for it all to go well.
