It all began in Pittsburgh. For some reason, I couldn't get the packing and leaving under control yesterday. My cousin and I finally got the bags, dogs, games, the dog food, computer, food, coffee, etc... loaded and off we went west. Off to Lexington KY for a good old family Thanksgiving. What is it about Thanksgiving.... there were like 10,000 minivans on the road, in a line, in the left lane, traveling at the speed of mud. What, were we all on a Sunday afternoon drive. People, we have places to go and people to see.... And no, I don't have road rage but it is so ANNOYing when people go less then the speed limit and insist on traveling in the left lane. I was flashing them left and right but to no avail. I guess because it was daylight or else they were ignoring me. Is there a mecca west that all minivans were traveling too??? Anyway we made it and fun times prevail in spite of the weather.
I just have to say up front, my dad is a good sport. Jon was stuck at the hospital caring for colicky horses, so the rest of us decided to head out for a movie. The only problem was, although my car can hold 7, I don't have the 3rd seat utilized, so dad was relegated to the doggie area. We offered him a rawhide chew but he declined..... He is studying for his board exam.
Getting back in voluntarilyMom and the boys.
The yearly family portrait..... Since we were under extreme time constraints, the process seemed to go much smoother. Does this mean we get a bye Christmas Eve Mom???? No pulling out of the tripod and the yelling up the stairs, "Don't get changed, we are going to have a family pic..." For some reason, the "Christmas Eve pic" is an arduous process even though it is a yearly event for the last 34 years. To the general public, you would have thought we would have perfected the process at this point. No Such Luck!!!!
The girls. We are looking a bit golden in this pic. Quite odd.

Ethan's first plate. Next time he is going to teach us how to compile our buffet plates. Apparently he is an expert.
Playing with the camera on my phone. The things we do to spice up Thanksgiving Dinner.

The mustache just makes him so much scarier.

Mom and I should have done a better job coordinating our colors. We are looking a bit 80's, turquoise and hot pink.

The other side of the dinner table. Chris looks like he is about to pontificate on a passage.
A little post dinner coffee, dialogue and discussions about things we are thankful for.... Coffee being one of them.
