Lets review

It was a rather long week that went very quickly. Or would it actually be a quick week that was packed with events.
Sunday night i had several friends, with and without small infants over for dinner. it was so fun to just chat, visit and take a breather from the business of the holiday season.
Monday, Jon is home. I had my first visit to Dr. Carvill and he fixed the pain I have been having in my one tooth for almost a year. Life minus tooth pain is much improved. Jon and I hung out for the afternoon. It was completely wet and miserable out so he rested and I did something I'm sure. We then went as a family to a friends home for dinner. It was amazing.
Tuesday, I had to work. I took the dogs on a walk with mom. 4 dogs, 2 people some sun and temps in the 20's. Not too bad. I was able to get a good run in and then it was back to mom's house for some homemade chicken soup. That seems to be a staple now a days. Definitely a good one though. Tuesday night I had to work. It ended up being a 16 hr day.
Wednesday, the countertop guys were supposed to install and complete the project. Well, that was just too lofty a goal to expect. I got home from work at 1130 am. Jon was at my house. He was going to wait for the guys so I could get some sleep. Well, the guys eventually got here around noon. Jon had to help them bring the slab in and then hummmmm, my sink had 2 cracks in it. Really, really...... So, now a new sink is ordered, a box of flooring has been ordered ( to fix where the countertop guys majorly scratched my new hardwood) and my original contractor has to come back and fix a spot where the countertop guys marred my new custom cabinets. I don't think I would ever recommend this countertop contractor. It has been a not good experience for me this last part of the project. I think I should have just let Dominic do poured concrete for the counters. It would definitely be done and done right by this point. Then to top it all off, I had to go back to work that night to some crazy patients.
Thursday, cleaned and hosted Jon's welcome back party. Parties are such great fun.
Friday, the part I didn't mention above, Grady has been throwing up multiple times a day since Tuesday and has had multiple urination accidents in the night for the last 3 nights. So, Friday morning started off with some clean up in multiple rooms of the house and a trip to the vet. I thought it might be an obstruction at first since he hadn't had number 2 in days but the part that didn't make sense. He had blood in his urine and was now having accidents. He is lethargic and just generally not himself. I think he might have poisoned himself with something but I have no idea. He hasn't gotten into anything here. Anyway, he went to Watertown with mom, Jon and I and camped out on the mink in the second seat with his coat on and didn't budge for the whole time. This picture below shows him drinking laying down. Something is not right. But I think he might be on the mend a little today. He is still just resting but he has a bit more life in his little eyes. No more vomit the last 2 days. That is a positive. I must say, I am going to have to work extra shifts to cover these mounting dog bills. I think they need health insurance as well.
Today, I was unable to stop a few times and once ran into a snow bank at the gym. I so need a new car. I also took a trip out to Norwood and spent some time with a few friends and ate some buckeye balls, yum, yum, yum.
So, that's a week review. I can't believe Christmas is in 5 days.

Otis and Jon after dinner tonight. Otis decided to wander down from his chair to greet us or perhaps it was just to be let outside.

Reading about your "adventures" with countertops made me search for the pictures posted earlier about your renovated kitchen. The cabinet and floors are beautiful! Do you mind telling what wood and stain type were used for both? I'm planning a kitchen redo myself so am in the middle of choosing colors, woods, etc.

My sister and I stumbled on your blog - hope you don't mind us following along quietly?
